Virus Removal
The term "computer virus" is commonly used as a catch-all phrase to include all types of malware. Malware, short for malicious software, is software that is designed to infiltrate, or damage a computer. Bottom line, it is unwanted. Our job is to remove malware and help prevent future occurrences. Some malware is so imbedded into the system that a reformat is required. We try to avoid this at all costs. In the event that we must reformat, we are sure to copy any personal data that you wish to salvage. A computer clean-up is also included in our virus removal package.
Computer Clean-up
A computer clean-up is an optimization of your system. This is a two-fold process. First we inspect your hardware and determine whether the computer is even worth cleaning. In many cases, computers have dropped so much in price that a replacement computer may be the best option. We also check if there are any low-cost upgrades that are worthwhile.
In addition to the hardware inspection, we also inspect your software. We perform a security audit, ensuring you have an up to date copy Windows, antivirus, and firewall. We remove unnecessary software from bootup, defragment, and perform other cleanup activities. It is not uncommon for our clients to feel like they have a new computer when they get their system back after our computer clean-up.
